March 30-April 3, 2020
Below or daily messages I sent to a handful of friends to share a few nuggets and acknowledge greatness.
Here's where it started...
Thank you Barb Wringer-Rourke for sparking this idea. I'm not completely sure how to get the word out but if you want to explore an idea for reaching out to kids here's a sample. Click on buttons to hear 5 minute audio recordings.
I introduce the idea of offering a morning ritual via a morning message in which you send a couple of nuggets with a sprinkle of greatness. I invite 10 people to tune in and challenge me to send a daily message for the next week! I ask adults to be attentive to activities and associated feelings amongst all the newness, to recognize their greatness and take care of themselves as a way of supporting the children.

Samples for students...approximate age, maybe 9-13 year olds.
I share these examples with the assumption that there is an existing format for students to share back in some forum. I wrote and recorded all five on the same day.
I extend the invitation to sit and breathe and notice the color, specifically the color green. Greatness involved: calm, self awareness, stress reduction, patience, flexibility, kindness, and alertness, attentiveness, intentionality, and appreciation. I also include a side note about envy with an invitation to notice!

I ground myself with awareness of the top of my head and connections to reset. Then I invite listeners to list ten words with the same word part. My examples are "ten" and "tion". I recommend Wordsmyth at a resource and focus on the greatness involved in this task.
|
I start with some deep breaths and a smile inviting listeners to attend to their smile throughout the day as well as the facial expressions of others. I revisit the word part "ten" and explore this Latin root meaning "to hold". I make the request for listeners to play with the word part they're are exploring (from day 2), to share learning that may offer future content, and to have fun with the greatness of curiosity and wonder.
|
I start with some deep breaths, smile and trace the air as in enters and leaves the body. I then introduce the concept of mentor as a person who helps you learn about yourself and how you want to be in the world. I then describe my greatness of germination and explain how ideas are seeds we can germinate. Listeners are asked to smile and consider what ideas are germinating for them.
|
I ask listeners to pause and listen to all the sounds around them. Next I refer back to my seeds/idea metaphor from sample 3 to ask listeners to select random objects and consider how they a like that object. I give a couple examples and highlight some of the greatness this requires.

Basic Structure
Brainstorm ideas and then write one page of long hand if you feel the need to script, which I did. This will give you about 5 minutes of content. My belief is that nuggets are especially important right now. Not too much.
